|
Here, at the Burlington Flats Baptist Church We are committed to participate in Christ's Mission: To seek out the lost, those who are hurting and unchurched; To Make disciples, that is, build relationships for the purpose of leading people to meet and to know Christ, to Grow in faith and knowledge of Christ, and to desire to model Christ. The First Questions: * Why did you come here ? * What are you looking for ? Need ? Desire ? * What brought you here ? * What keeps you coming back ? The First Step: Got Class ? To help you identify where you are in your Spiritual journey; 1) Do you need to know more about Christ ? Or, What does it mean to "accept" Christ ? 2) Are you Saved, but not Baptized**? ** Believer's Baptism by Immersion Action Step: Class 101 3) Have you been Baptized ** but are not a member ? Action Step: Class 101 4) Are you a Member, but not consistent, or desire to move on in your walk ? Action Step: Class 201 5) Do you desire to discover and experience you own Ministry? Action Step: Class 301 6) Do you have a desire to sharpen your skills to share Christ more effectively ? Action Step: Class 401 Our Strategy is primarily accomplished through the five purposes Christ gave to us in: The Great Commandment (celebrating Christ through Worship, and Contributing to our own Ministry to help and encourage others), and The Great Commission (To make Disciples by; Connecting to His Community, Committing to Discipleship, and Communicating His message to the World). Strategy #1 WORSHIP: Our purpose is to inspire corporate and personal celebration of Christ's presence and activity in our lives The Bible is our central focus for offering renewed hope and encouragement. We will use a blend of a the traditional approach to the Worship service, as well as a more contemporary use of our Worship Team and multimedia, to provide a reason for people to be glad they were here and to find the value of knowing Christ personally. Strategy #2 COMMUNITY: Our purpose here is to build an authentic, biblical model of community that connects people to Christ and to His Church. The celebration of Baptism and Membership are the key opportunities to demonstrate these realities. Recognizing that the first few minutes after the Worship service ends provides the most critical opportunity to greet guests, thus beginning the relationship building process. Relationships are further developed by experiencing life together in: Small groups, Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings, and just simply sitting down over a cup of coffee. |
